My therapy journey
I came to counselling and psychotherapy after a successful career in publishing. I realised that helping other people fulfilled a need in me that wasn’t being met and that I had the right aptitude to practise in this field. In addition, I knew from my own experience that therapy works. My professional training began with a Certificate course at WPF Therapy in London and culminated with the award of a Master of Science (Distinction) in Counselling Psychology from Keele University. However, as an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) I am required to continually develop my skills through further, ongoing study. I am also an accredited bereavement support worker and a former honorary counsellor for the mental health charity Mind.
